Client Organisation
A regional local government body in New South Wales provides infrastructure, community services and regulatory oversight for its community. Like many regional councils, it manages diverse services with finite resources. Procurement is a critical function, with VendorPanel serving as the central tool to engage suppliers. The organisation required a streamlined setup that would meet compliance obligations, support staff capability, and ensure strong engagement with local and external vendors. Its strategic aim was to embed best-practice procurement processes while increasing efficiency and transparency in supplier management.
Project Overview
The organisation’s VendorPanel platform was functional but not optimised to meet requirements. Processes were fragmented, with inconsistent adoption by staff and limited engagement from vendors. This created inefficiencies and compliance risks. Sedha Consulting was engaged to review and restructure the VendorPanel setup, align it with best practice, and build capability across the business. A key objective was to ensure VendorPanel became a tool that staff could use confidently and effectively to run procurements, submit RFQs, manage Q&A, and evaluate supplier responses. The project also aimed to strengthen vendor participation and improve the ability to manage competitive procurement processes.
Sedha's Role
Sedha Consulting conducted a full review of the existing VendorPanel setup and redesigned it to meet organisational requirements. This included embedding best-practice procurement principles within the platform structure. Sedha liaised with stakeholders across business units and external vendors to ensure system design aligned with operational needs and encouraged supplier adoption. Training was a central component. Sedha ran targeted workshops for key users, delivered a “Train the Trainer” program to build ongoing capability, and facilitated live training sessions demonstrating RFQ submission, Q&A management, and bid evaluation. The engagement combined structured system design with hands-on user enablement, ensuring the new setup was both technically robust and practical for everyday use.
Results
The organisation achieved a restructured VendorPanel platform that aligned with operational needs and industry best practice. Staff gained confidence in using the system through practical training, with nominated trainers equipped to embed and extend knowledge across teams. Vendors were successfully onboarded, expanding supplier participation and ensuring competitive procurement processes. Procurement activities are now more transparent, efficient and compliant, reducing administrative burden and strengthening governance. The project delivered lasting value by creating a scalable system and internal capability that will continue to improve procurement outcomes.
