Large Infra Client, Vendor Audit Closure Project
119
Client Organisation
The client is a large infrastructure operator responsible for managing critical assets and services across multiple locations. With a significant workforce and diverse operations, the organisation must balance regulatory compliance, financial performance and operational resilience. Technology investment is central to its business model, with reliance on global vendors to support essential systems. Managing costs, contracts and vendor relationships is a continual priority to protect both financial and operational outcomes.
Project Overview
The organisation had been under pressure from a major technology vendor audit that remained unresolved for more than twelve months. Internal teams had been unable to close the matter, resulting in financial uncertainty and operational risk as vendor claims threatened to escalate into substantial unplanned costs. The client required independent expertise to validate the vendor’s position, assess contractual obligations and negotiate a definitive closure. Sedha Consulting was engaged to provide vendor audit management, commercial validation and negotiation support, with a clear mandate to secure savings and mitigate risk within a short timeframe.
Sedha's Role
Over a three-month period, Sedha Consulting worked closely with the client’s IT, Finance and Legal teams to deliver a structured resolution process. Activities included a detailed review of audit reports, analysis of existing contracts, and both technical and commercial validation of vendor claims. Sedha developed a negotiation plan, provided strategic advice, and guided the client through structured settlement discussions. The team coordinated input across multiple internal stakeholders, ensuring legal, financial and operational perspectives were fully addressed. Sedha’s role spanned vendor audit management, commercial validation, negotiation support and settlement closure, enabling the client to move forward with clarity and certainty.
Results
The engagement achieved a successful closure of the audit within three months. The immediate resolution delivered savings exceeding A$100,000 from the closure process. In total, the client secured more than A$750,000 in avoided costs through Sedha’s structured validation and negotiation approach. In addition to financial impact, the organisation benefited from reduced risk exposure, strengthened vendor governance, and improved collaboration between internal functions. The case demonstrated the effectiveness of proactive audit management and established a stronger foundation for future vendor engagements.
